Thrust bearing failed. 508 hours. Caused pinion gear backlash to be reduced eating gears. No water or corrosion in unit. Never had any water or loss of lube when lubricant was changed. Nothing that $5661.91 would not fix. Replaced lower unit with new redesigned piece that has the design upgrades. Only parts damaged are the thrust bearing, race and two gears. Housing was split to remove bearing carrier. All other parts good. If anyone needs some parts have a good deal on them. | ||||
