Dave,

I had the same problem until I replaced my AFI horns with a set of
all stainless steel horns from Ongaro Marine. The AFI's are
stainless outside, but the 'guts' are mild steel and only last about
a year (at best).

I replaced mine with the Ongaro part number 10028 dual trumpet horn,
and the sound output is amazing. Check them out at:
