    The drainable are only allowed for gas outboards I am told. Mine is in the bilge also so there is some risk. I like being able to inspect/quantify any contaminants. I find monitoring and maintaining the fuel and battery prevent a lot of issues.

    New Parker VS Classic Parker

    My only dissapointment was the fuel tank failure after 15 years. My new tank is a much heavier gauge aluminum and is coated.

    I have 6 Spinfisher V ranging from 8500 to 10050. I fish them very hard. I buy the Plus Plan Warranty for $24.00 at West Marine and trade them in for a NEW one every 34 months.

    2013 Parker 2300 DVCC w 250 Yamaha

    Saw only 2 23DVCC in 15 years in South Florida used. Bought mine in 2010 a 2001 model. Bought only the boat, no engine or trailer for $18,500. Put a new 250 Yamaha electronics ect. 48K in it. Re powered it in 2015 with a 300hp, difference is 4 more knots.

    New idea to cover up notched transom

    I don't often back down on a fish or ever go into a hard reverse even with my full transom 23DVCC in the open ocean and NEVER anchor from the stern. When I see people with a notched transom do those things I cringe.

    I ran a 3 month experiment filling my car every week with marine fuel then alternating to ethanol. I got 3% better gas mileage matching the EPA data on non ethanol vs ethanol.

    Short answer, NON ethanol, Marine Fuel Only, 90 octane in my area. You risk a very nasty "Phase Separation " in your vented non pressurized fuel tank with ethanol gas mixture.
