    New to me... Parker 1801

Welcome to CP! I had to dig way back in the archives, but here is a link to a thread where I show one option for fly-rod storage -- I got the idea from a charter captain on Tidal Fish if I remember correctly. Best of luck with the new boat! viewtopic.php?f=11&t=72 -- Tom

    Fuel fill hose comments

Tim, Thanks for posting the updated info.. I was thinking about tackling this project this spring, but now I'm not so sure.. kinda falls into the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' category at this point for me. What did you end up using as a sealant/adhesive? Maybe I'll wait to see how Kevin...

How do you know that it is almost spring?

Leave it to Kevin to spend his retirement polishing his knobs. -- Tom

freeboard height on the 21 SE compared to the 21DVCC?

24" in aft cockpit, 28" at bow in my 1999 21' Parker DVCC, measured from deck to top of gunwale. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the older 21SE's are 20" in aft cockpit. Keep in mind that if you are looking at new boats, I believe that Parker did away with (again) the 21DV and modified the...

What I've learned so far about the "big block" OX66 motor

Another thing to keep in mind on the winky-blinky is that it only shows 'live' error codes from the sensors. In other words, it doesn't store any codes from previous problems, and if a problem only occurs in a specific circumstance, the code will only show under those conditions. Other things...

Rust stains in bilge, please help

Another tip is to take a digital camera or camcorder and take random shots where you can't fit your noggin to see firsthand. Digital is key so that you can immediately see whats going on and take more shots at a different angle if needed. -- Tom

    steering knob

I bought one of these stainless knobs on eBay a while back for $15 for my previous boat and absolutely love it. Its made by Sea-Dog.. I couldn't imagine docking my boat without it. Due to the price I thought it wouldn't hold in place, or would rust, etc.. but it has been rock solid and looks...

Water in my gas - Phase Separation - Not a fun project

Phil, Another recommendation for the WEMA sender. I replaced my stock sender this summer and had no problems with the Wema. The one thing I noticed was that the fuel level went down in a more 'linear' fashion.. ie with the old sender it would take forever to get to half a tank, than the...

Water in my gas - Phase Separation - Not a fun project

Phil, FYI, I wouldn't purchase that pump for 80 gals, which is why I didn't post in the first place :) It would work but would take too long, I think you would be much better off with the traditional siphon approach. Not to mention that the pump has a simple inline filter that would get...

Water in my gas - Phase Separation - Not a fun project

Damn.. that sucks. Any idea how the water got in there? My fuel tank has two pickups, so you might be able to use the other one to drain the tank if you want to avoid the sender screw problem. -- Tom

Saw this mentioned on Ship Shape TV as a lower cost alternative to FLIR.. not sure of pros/cons though. http://www.nitetoday.com/ -- Tom
