    Fuel tank leak

Parker sent me a couple of schematics to show where the bulkheads were. That, along with a couple new inspection holes made the deck a little easier to cut accurately. Parker also offered to sell me a new tank at their cost, through my local dealer. Their cost was about the same as the low bid I...

    Fuel tank leak

Actually, the photos are in reverse order. The first photo is the finished deck and it does look good. I can't see anything that would indicate the deck was cut.

    Fuel tank leak

First off, let me say I love my boat and hope no one reads this as "Parker Bashing". I discovered diesel fuel in my engine bilge and found that I had a leak in the aluminum tank of my '97 boat. After much research, I have found that foamed in fuel tanks are not the preferred way to install an...

    Windlass Install and Type?

I replaced a very very slow vertical windlass with this Horizontal unit made by Maxwell. It was highly rated in Powerboat Reports and I am very happy with it thus far. Fairly simple install since I already had the right sized wiring from the old windlass. Good Luck

    Bilge Pump Upgrade Project

Thanks Kevin, I found a good deal on stainless thru-hulls and hopefully, they'll use the same sized holes.

    Bilge Pump Upgrade Project

Capt. Kevin, Do you recall the thru-hull sizes for the forward and rear bilge discharges? I would assume they are the same size as my stock plastic fittings. My boat is not really convenient to travel to so I can measure. Thanks

Whoops, I should have checked first. TopShot25's pictures are already on the projects forum. Go check it out.

Battery location in a 25 MVSC

Hopefully, Topshot25 will submit his photos of the modifications he's done to battery placement on his "HornDog". He's done a great thing.

    pilothouse trumpet horns

I've replaced 2 sets of horns so far. The last set were made by Ongaro and are supposed to be all stainless internally. We'll see. I thought about tilting them down as far as possible, but figured they would still get lots of salt spray exposure due to their location. I've seen guys mount them...

WhalinDave, Glad to meet you all

Thanks Capt Kevin. The engine is a Volvo AD41. I don't know how many Parker made. I talked to a Parker rep at a boat show who said the demand for the diesel stern drives died around 1999 - 2000. Probably due to the popularity of the 4 stroke technology. I still like the safety factor but with...

    Anchor Light Upgrade

Hi Capt. Kevin, I did the exact same modification to my boat. I used the same brand of light and mounted the head to the old post. The problem I had was condensation forming inside the lamp housing. After only a few months, only the upper row of LEDs were working. I returned it to the...

WhalinDave, Glad to meet you all

Fish Southern California. The Parker is my 4th boat and is ideal for what I like to do. It is a '97 2520 DVSC with a Volvo diesel and duoprop. It's not a real fast boat, but how fast can you go in the waters off our coast anyway. Do a lot of trips to Catalina and San Clemente Island. Boat has...
