Just my opinion but all you need is enough motor to get your boat running at hull speed. You sure aren't going to get her on plane with any 'kicker" size motor. I have the 8.8 high thrust, 9.9 is probably a bit better, 15 is probably more than you need. I got the longer shaft. Can't remember...

The combination of fuel costs and fish limits has changed my boating habits. Makes no sense to burn $400 worth of fuel to keep 2 grouper. Damn Feds. Commercials have them in their pocket. Anyway, The Other Line has turned into a intracoastal cruiser. For Now.
