    Wanted-Cobia Ring/Tower

-Wanted To Buy. Looking to add a cobia tower to my 2530 mv. I'm not necessarily looking for a second station but will consider it. With or without the buggy top...not too picky. Looking for something between these two extremes.

    Reboarding ladder

Doesn't sound like you'd need anything too elaborate, just a little assistance getting you up on the platform. How bout a few dropper loops in a spare line to get your feet in? If you have more time on your hands, make one of these... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEXttVyT1A4

    2120 lists at rest

I removed the galley (starboard side 150-200lbs) and keep most of the storage of heavy weight and cargo on the port side (7 scuba tanks, a big 160qt. cooler, tools, fishing and dive etc) and it sits level without passengers. If the boat is devoid of all port side gear and passengers the...

    Galley removal in 2530

...it comes out easily without removing the cabin door. On this particular year the drawer/sink/fridge/stove cabinet is screwed (horizontally) into Pressure Treated 2x2 cleats which run in a U shape outline inside of the cabinet base. These cleats are screwed to rough fiberglass box that is...

    Topside paint?

Oyster White is very very close to a 93's (slightly oxadized) gelcoat. It was close enough that you couldn't see any lines or contrast where I did the entire cockpit and blended into the rough gelcoat of the hullside/gunwhale. Getting the custom tint that Dale spoke of might be the ticket if...

    Grizzly Grip

Since you say it is an old skiff, then it may in fact serve you well in your specific application. It appears that others are considering it for their pride and joy so I put this out there for their benefit and consideration. On my deck replacement project I almost went the bedliner route...

Should I pull the carpet of the ceiling of my pilot house?

I concur. I don't know if it holds true in all boats with an "unfinished interior" but one bare glass cabin and pilothouse that I rode in had some very strange harmonics. A weird drone/vibration that would absolutely drive you mad.

    fuel tank elbow

I had the same problem. Solution: I cut the next larger size access plate and centered it between both pickup's. Since the 2nd pickup is complete and functional but not used, I keep extra fittings and length of fuel hose aboard for redundancy at sea.

Thanks Kevin. I checked them out. Reasonably priced too!

HELP!! Need advise on I/O motor.

There were problems with Bravo III between 1994 and 2000. With that said, dont write it off just yet. If the problem was corrected I would not hesitate to own one. You need to do a little investigative work to make sure this problem was appropiately resolved by the owner. Since you say the...

Good info Dale and Kevin. I need to do some research on WaterWitches. Do you buy them factory direct or thru vendor? Thanks guys!

    Whats your winter project

Excellent advice, Thanks! Oh, I forgot to mention. When I was tearing up the old deck guess what I found? About 30 stainless steel, ring shank nails holding the perimeter of the deck down. Over the tank were s.s. screws. You wanna talk about a job getting those suckers out! Vice Grips to...

    Whats your winter project

Bryan, I thought the tank was in pretty rough shape when I first inspected it but it turned out o.k. It was all just the residue of rotten plywood and foam but suprisingly it cleaned right up with no pitting found. The stringers/framing over the tank were sound as well. They looked...

2530 picture thread SHOW THEM OFF

Nope. It really looks like it though. Actually its the remnants of a steam engine on a WW2 era tanker. The irony is that it was sunk by a U-boat.

    gas in bilge

I doubt it's your tank. Check a few things before you get too worked up: Open the deck access plates and check #1) the fuel fill and vent hose connections to the tank #2) the fuel pickup elbow and hose connections #3) the fuel sender and gasket Are they all double clamped? Might want to...

HELP!! Need advise on I/O motor.

After a little research, apparently there are big problems with the volvo composite drive... http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-for ... ssues.html The problems seem genuine and pretty specific, not rumor and allegation stuff.

HELP!! Need advise on I/O motor.

Good question. I heard it was ok in general however could not be married to the higher horse power motors. I don't know anyone that has one.

    Whats your winter project

For what its worth I carry an assortment of "softwood" plugs in case any of the thru holes let go. Something else to consider...A NERF FOOTBALL. Yes it sounds crazy and has never been tested that I know of but I bet that in certain cases it could be squeezed into a breach and released and if...

2530 picture thread SHOW THEM OFF

Yep, Mod-V, 14 deg. For essentially a flat bottom boat she rides suprisingly well in the ocean. Of course 1500-2000 pounds of ballast (gear and people) doesn't hurt a bit. If its really rough, I slow down, put the wipers on, tabs down and just punch thru it. Once on hook, she makes a very...
