2300 - FWD Locker Thru Hull Replacement - Difficult?

@mbaltay, hopefully I didn’t come across as critical or condescending, that wasn’t my intent. Your engineering perspective on this and other topics is truly impressive. I just meant to clarify a few things that are likely pertinent to this specific installation.

2300 - FWD Locker Thru Hull Replacement - Difficult?

I’m gonna bet this is your access. There has to be one- there’s simply no way for them to have pre-built this connection before the hull and deck cap were joined.

2300 - FWD Locker Thru Hull Replacement - Difficult?

Just a couple comments, as usual you make a lot of good points. -I may be wrong, but I believe that the boxes in this case do not drain directly through the side of the hull, but through a bottom drain connected to a thru-hull by a hose. Therefore, a normal barbed, threaded through hull...

    Helm Seat Upgrades?

Looks great! Which Bentley seats are those? They look pretty much exactly like what I’m looking for.

Yamaha states the max operating range as 5-6k. I agree that 5200 seems on the low side, but not outside of spec. This was the setup recommended by PropGods for this hull/motor combo, so I’m going to keep running it for a season or two to see how it plays out.

    That’s about what I’m seeing on a ‘95 DV 2530 with 2022 F150s with four blade PowerTech props. 32kts at 5200rpm.

2300 - FWD Locker Thru Hull Replacement - Difficult?

I don’t disagree with you, use it if you feel like it. I just don’t consider it necessary for the majority of fittings. Lots of manufacturers recommend it due to the “lowest common denominator” factor. Even if an amateur installation isn’t perfect… if you put enough of that goop on there, it...

    Hello 2530 ext cabin

Only thing that’s not factory and would take up extra space is the livewell. @captainlakay, I’ll see if I can dig up a picture of my livewell setup. I have a 32gal oval Kodiak well that sits on my port side, just aft of the step up to go around the pilothouse. It fills from a pump in the bilge...

Winterize raw water washdown / livewell pump

Remember that if you decide to winterize a baitwell system with antifreeze, you will need to flush the HELL out of it prior to putting any bait in the baitwell next season. “Non-toxic” definitely doesn’t apply to sensitive and often expensive baitfish.

    Hello 2530 ext cabin

Welcome Ray! You have one of the nicest boats Parker has ever made- the 2530s remain in high demand across the market. The combination of cockpit space and pilothouse storage/seating is in my (admittedly biased) opinion the perfect balance. I’ll see if I can dig up some photos of my...

2021 Parker 2320 and Minn Kota Trolling motor installation.

I think his point is that the USEABLE capacity of a nominal 50AH lithium system will be about double that of a nominal 50AH FLA/AGM system since the lithiums can be discharged down to almost zero without damage, whereas LA batteries shouldn’t be repeatedly drawn down below 50% to avoid degrading...

2300 - FWD Locker Thru Hull Replacement - Difficult?

Since they’re above the waterline, I’d opt for polished stainless rather than bronze. It won’t get green and will look good forever. Gemlux is a good supplier of high quality 316SS fittings.

    Trolling Motor Support Arm

Except that the clamp used in this one is far better than the Rhodan mount, which requires you to screw in a ball mount base somewhere on your covering boards. Obviously I could have done that, but I didn’t want more holes in the boat. I also didn’t want additional mounting fixtures...

    Dual control station rigging help

If you have digital electronic controls, it’s as easy as plugging in another set of controls. If you’ve got cable controls, it gets a lot more complicated.

    Trolling Motor Support Arm

I ran into the typical issue with a ton of “bounce” or vibration in the trolling motor shaft while underway or trailering. It puts a lot of stress on the motor components, and can mess up the boards in the head as well, especially while driving a few hours with the boat on the trailer. Most of...

    Front head light - 21SE T-Top

I don’t think you’re going to find a direct replacement for what you have, that does what you want. The light patterns are different- products designed to mount where your current spreader light is installed, tend to have the same properties: wide, low intensity “spread” of light. You’re...

    Chip in livewell

If that’s all you’re worried about, smear it with a dab of your favorite marine sealant the next time you have the occasion to seal something. That’ll seal it up just fine, no need for resins and gelcoat and whatnot unless you’re trying to make a cosmetic repair.

    Filling old screw holes

Believe me, I know your pain… 😂 Here’s my fastener box: By the way, should your addiction grow, the assortment boxes fit nicely in a Dewalt Tstak storage box. However, this may also lead to a new addiction to buying Dewalt Tstak boxes for all your tools.

    Enclosure

In addition to the above (not to keep plugging them, but they are a good source) Sailrite sells a neoprene gasket that fits under the snap base. It should decrease the dissimilar metals contact area significantly, although there will obviously still be contact via the fastener itself.

Welcome! Andy is correct, you’ve got one of the best boats ever made by Parker, in my (admittedly biased) opinion. Beautiful rig, I’m excited to see what you do with it. Have fun with your modifications!
