Thanks guys but I'm all set now. Got a new set at cost. The other old spring looked fine but I wanted to be safe. For the record, the best way that I've found to get off rusty nuts is to slowly sp[in on and back off a new one with WD40. Wears right through.

So it does sound like I am going too slow and not hitting the right RPM. What's next? I'd prefer to stick with an aluminum prop since I am likely to hit something :oops: I should probably tell you what size prop I have.... which I will have to check :roll:

So I checked the manual and it's not black and white to me. It says that I should be running between 5 and 6K. Not much help. Anyone know where I can get an exact number? Tuna are here.... no time to be slow :)

You can make them out of PVC for short money and be sure that the tubes fit all of your rods. Third season with mine and I still love them.

Super dumb question.... (please take pity) So a Racor is just a fuel water separator that has a visible reservoir for draining out the collected water? I have a "regular" fuel water filter that is opaque. My marina told me to check it every 30-50 engine hours for water by unscrewing it and...
