    2520 XL - Boat Lift

I wouldn't sweat getting the bunks directly under stringers as heavily as these boats are laid up. In my opinion it is more important to get the bunks as wide as possible while avoiding landing on thru hulls, 'ducers and trim tabs. Also avoiding getting the keel to close to the cross beams of...

    2520 XL - Boat Lift

Andy, The 52" of separation is at the top where the bunks contact the hull. Baker might could get by with 2 x 10's instead of 2 x 12's with the 16 degree deadrise on the XL model. Yeah, I knew I had that split when I out them together. I made sure that the other 2 x 12 was defect free in that...

    2520 XL - Boat Lift

Baker, Just went down & measured my lift bunks. They are parallel & 52" inside to inside. That puts them about 2" inboard of trim tabs. I set mine @ 21° to match my deadrise (2520 XLD) and the forward end is set 1 1/2" higher than aft to ensure cockpit drains to scuppers. Spacing between cradle...

    Insert rod holders

I do not attach it to the boat. I simply drilled a hole through the portion of the outrodder that extends below my boat's rod holders. After inserting the outrodder in the rodholder, the r-clip goes through both walls of the pipe below the rodholder preventing it from being withdrawn. You need...

    Insert rod holders

I lost one of my first pair the first time we used them. Big fish on, trying to get the rod out of the outrodder, pulled it out of the boat rod holder....& they don't float! Mine extend a little below the permanent rod holders on my 1800, so I drilled them & always use an R-clip retainer pin to...

New member on the Ches. Bay

Welcome to Classic Parker ESRob. Lots of working Parkers in my neck of the Chesapeake as well. In fact, that was one of things that steered me towards my first Parker 25 years ago. The fact that so many watermen who spent nearly every day on the water trusted Parkers was an incredible...

    90 23' W/A Trim Finish

Absolutely. What you want is to completely encapsulate the wood with epoxy to form a barrier coat against moisture intrusion. That is why straight up varnish fails - it allows moisture through to the substrate which destroys the bond. Good luck & let's see some pix of the finished project...

Sea trial, 2520...follow up to my splash post

I've got two too...but they're on two different boats! If I had ordered a new boat, I would've surely gotten the second station...but the way it worked out, the boat that found us didn't come so equiped. So far, I'm OK with the single helm station and I kinda like the extra space in the...

    90 23' W/A Trim Finish

I don't know that it is common, but it does work very well. You will end up with an amazing result. The problem with varnish alone is that varnish allows water to penetrate to the wood which will cause the bond with the substrate to fail. By coating with epoxy, you create a water tight...

    90 23' W/A Trim Finish

Hi bsterling, When I got my '90 1800 25 years ago the wood trim was already weathered from UV exposure. I sanded the weathered wood back to a smooth surface, applied 2 coats of West System epoxy and lightly sanded and washed to remove amine bloom. I then followed with 2 or 3 coats of spar...

    2120 grows to 2530

We love to run down the ICW to Manteo. Great little town with plenty to do, nice restaurants and some good places to stay. Been doing it just about every year for a good while, although we missed last year due to Covid and other comittments. Haven't done it in the 2520 yet, we usually go with...

    For Sale 2020 2520XLD

Parker541, My boat is similar to Tiderunner's with the exception of mine having twin 200's vice 150's. My boat resides in a lift most of the, only getting on the trailer for weather events or maintenence and then not very far (less than 20 miles). I tow mine with an F150 4x4 5.0L V8. I...

    Operating the Electric Toilet/Head

Have not used mine...yet. Previous owner did not use it either. I will be following this discussion, both out of curiosity abour how others use their boats and desire to better understand the systems on my boat. Cap'n Dan

    Enthol vs non-enthol

Split decision here. I only run ethanol free in my 1800, which now lives on a trailer - but even when it was kept in a lift, I stuck to ethanol free. There is only one station near me that sells non E (Southern States co-op in Windsor, VA) and it is about 20 miles of back country roads to get...
