    Livewell Seat Cushion Velcro Strips

Yes I drilled the rivets out with a 1/8" drill in order to remove the old ones. But the rivets don't go all the way through to the live well. The bubble that the helm seat is mounted to is double walled. I don't know of any other way to get the rivets out. And then I reinstalled new Velcro...

    Livewell Seat Cushion Velcro Strips

They are pop-riveted in place. You need to take a 1/8" drill bit and drill the center of the rivet out and they will come off. Good luck.

Parts Wanted Overhead Electronics Box Plexiglass Cover

Thanks. I just ordered some sheet stock from Amazon ... I'm going to end up fabbing something in my shop.

Parts Wanted Overhead Electronics Box Plexiglass Cover

I'm looking for a used front cover for my overhead electronics box. At some point the previous owner replaced it with a flimsy piece of white starboard like material. I think the original was 3/8" black plexiglass. The outside dimensions are 26-3/4" X 8". I looked on Amazon for some stock to...

    Getting bow down on 2300

My previous boat was a 2300DVCC. Adding the Permatrim made a world of difference, I wish I would have done it sooner. It was a nice off-season project ... I pulled the lower unit in the fall at the end of the season and took it down to my basement. I ended up doing the water pump kit too...

    Prop Maintenance

Mine were seriously neglected by the previous owner. During the offseason I pulled them and cleaned them with toilet bowl cleaner and a scrub pad in my basement utility tub to get the mud / marine growth off. The toilet bowl cleaner was the only thing that worked. After that I used Mother's...

    Prop Maintenance

    Try ordinary toilet bowl cleaner.

    One tough boat

Ouch. I don’t think that will rub out.

    Yamaha exhaust repair

I agree on the years. I recall reading somewhere that the design change was implemented on 2006’s.

    Deck cleaning?

I was wondering why my old boat started to take on a "peppered" appearance. I think I better cut back on the Soft Scrub. What type of wax are you referring to? Won't that make the non-skid slippery as heck?

    Deck cleaning?

Soft Scrub with bleach … spread it out and let it “marinate” in the sun while you have a beer. Then give it a scrub and thorough rinse. It’s less expensive than the “marine” products.

How to Replace a Seastar 3/8" Tube Nut

Hello ... I'm looking for some advice on replacing the tube nut on the 3/8" line at my helm pump. I suspect it is the source of a leak, so I bought a spare and was planning on slipping the old one off and a new one on. Well, I can't budge the old one so I figured I would cut it off since there...

    stern rail necassary?

My dad installed smaller ones on the washboard only of our old Mako 23 which had very low gunnels. Main reason was to keep his little first mate (me) safe. I think they would get in the way In saltwater mainly because you are dealing with larger fish. Here in Lake Erie we’re netting most...

    Color match

Hi Blutgendorf, I think I've got a similar problem on the bracket for my 2510. The previous owner used downriggers straight off the stern ... and by the looks of it the downrigger weights were banging in to the bracket and chipped off a lot of the paint leaving exposed aluminum. Once you find...

Yes ... acetone even better than alcohol.

Removing Old Parker Decal and Pin Stripes

I just did the same job a month ago. All you need is a heat gun. First use painters tape so you'll be able to position the new decal EXACTLY where the old one was. Then start at one end and get it hot, almost too hot to touch. You'll be able to work the whole decal right off if you get the...

Yes I have a whole written procedure with pics. I’ll get it posted this weekend. It’ll save you a ton of time and effort.

Smell Gas Fumes in Center Console

A picture is worth a thousand words they say ... this is what the old fill hose looked like. There were two areas like this that were cracked and seeping fuel during fill ups. Notice the bottle of Dawn dishwashing soap in the background ... If you tackle the job yourself liberally coat the new...
