    FS: 2000 2300CC with a 2003 Yamaha 225 Freshwater - $27,000

I'm looking to upsize and have a year 2000 Parker Model 2300 CC center console for sale. The boat is powered by a year 2003 4-stroke Yamaha 225 horsepower engine. I am the second owner and am a maintenance fanatic; it is very clean and very well maintained. Every single gallon of fuel run...

    Best product for cleaning deck

I've never tried the woody wax on the non skid. Sounds like good stuff. I think Star Brite came out with a new product called "non-skid deck wax" recently too.

    Best product for cleaning deck

I've been using soft scrub (there are several types, and I've side-by-side tested all 3, get the one that contains bleach) for years on the non-skid. Haven't found anything better and its very inexpensive compared to some of the other "marine" products.

    2003 Yamaha F225

You lost me with "damage to the powerhead". What can happen to the powerhead? Do you mean damage caused by running the engine with a low oil level in the crankcase? I'm not really sure what problem with corrosion causes.

    2003 Yamaha F225

No it hasn't been inspected for that but I am aware of the issue. I usually troll for a couple of hours then shut the engine off to stow gear before I make the run back to port. When I restart I do notice something that looks like oil on the water's surface, I think that is a sign of the...

    2003 Yamaha F225

Just curious, about how many hours do you think I can put on this engine before it would be time to re-power it. Its got 800 right now, was used in saltwater for 2 seasons then freshwater ever since? I suppose it comes down to when it starts losing compression. Just looking for a rough...

Those of you with 23' boats... Do you own trailer or store?

I inherited a Loadmaster (built in Port Clinton, OH) for my 2000 Parker 2300 CC and have had only one issue with the surge drum brakes locking up during storage all summer. My fault, I backed it in to position and neglected to jerk it forward to release the brakes before uncoupling. I'd...

    2300 CC Fuel Gauge

Strong northeaster yesterday on Lake Erie so all fishing plans were cancelled and I had time to troubleshoot my fuel problem. Here is an update ... We cut both wires at the butt connection at the sender end of the system (in the photo above) and the gauge reading immediately went to empty. So...

    2300 CC Fuel Gauge

Warthog I didn't find a pink wire. I found a WEMA SUF 15.5 with a blue and black wire (see pics). I assume I should put the blue to ground to verify my wiring?

    2300 CC Fuel Gauge

Thanks for the advice Warthog. I'll take a look tonight after work and report back.

    2300 CC Fuel Gauge

I'm having trouble getting an accurate reading on my fuel gauge. It is very slow to drop and won't drop below about 3/4 tank or 5/8 of a tank. I don't have an FMS so its very difficult to tell how much fuel I've used or have left in the tank. Its a year 2000 hull with 2003 Yamaha gauges. Any...

    2300 CC Repower

Thanks I thought of that but I also wanted the safety of twins.

Sorry the file didn't upload the first time ... too big.

2003 Yamaha F225 Spark Plug Insulator Nose Dark

To clarify there are 125 hours on the plugs ... about 750 hours total on the engine.

    2300 CC Repower

I have a year 2000 2300 CC with a bracket and a single Yamaha 225 on it. I like the peace of mind of twin engines and it seems slightly underpowered in a following sea. It looks like the project would involve removing the existing bracket and installing a new bracket suitable for twin engines...

2003 Yamaha F225 Spark Plug Insulator Nose Dark

Just changed plugs for the season and noticed the plug from the top cylinder, port side had a noticeably darker insulating nose than the other five (see picture). 125 hours on them. Any thoughts on what may be the cause? Is this a common issue with this engine?
