What did you pay for your Parker boat and when?

Purchased my 2004 Parker 1801 in December 2017 from beacon marine in cos cob Ct. it was originally owned by an older attorney who fly fished and decided to upgrade to a larger boat. Paid 11k, they had it listed for 12k. It came with aftermarket leaning post that was pitted, and a gpsmaps FF. Sat...

    Bilge rust stain Parker 1801

I’m going to have to say it was an oversight by Parker and most likely the void was left half assed or just not adequate. Boat is trailer sailed, cover at all times with plug removed bilge hatch always left agar, as well as bow hatch. To my dismay it was discovered like a previous posted, brown...

    Bilge rust stain Parker 1801

Agreed brother, agreed! I drilled a few inspection holes 3/16 and it seems wet and black about 2-3inches in, and starts to get lighter and less damp within 5-6 inches. Injected acetone to help dry it. There are several methods that can be used here but I think I will attempt to inject either a...

    Bilge rust stain Parker 1801

Well, I was told in order to diagnose the skin needs to be cut back, and deck may have to be removed partially. Not ideal. That’s gonna be a few K

Will do. I hope it can be repaired without tearing out the deck or stringer..

    Bilge rust stain Parker 1801

It’s pretty wet inside there. Wonder how far the rot has spread. You had said your stringer was intact just damp.

    Bilge rust stain Parker 1801

Yes trailered and covered at all times. I don’t think I can open the end cap easily. I will need to do if from the inside facing wall. Anyone recommend how to do this?

    Bilge rust stain Parker 1801

Thoroughly saddened to find this. Dosent look good and I’m not looking forward to the potential cost to repair this.

    Bilge rust stain Parker 1801

The telltale sign of tannins leaching from the stringer. Will have to see where but I read a previous post with identical staining and he has the glass professionally removed and allowed stringer to be dried and then reglassed

    Bilge rust stain Parker 1801

I would like to find something like that to ease my mind. I suspect it maybe be fiberglass that cracked on the stringer. Going to get my ass inside and take some pics.

    Bilge rust stain Parker 1801

Hello, I have noticed some rust looking stains in the bilge that come from the port side. I clean them up and they return. Never paid much attention to it. I stumbled over a post that got me concerned. I also have been over inspecting any cracks or areas where water can get into the core...

Bilge pump pad wet and delaminating

Appreciate your input on the subject. I want to laminate something like coosa, but time is an issue and I have no where to source a piece. Also I don’t want to make a meal out of this. If I had more time or room to do the job right with proper lamination and then gelcoat I would, just feel like...

Bilge pump pad wet and delaminating

Test fit. Multi tooled the tabs down flat. And more an I’ll be grinding the perimeter too much. Will use 4200 or six 10 to fillet around. Thinking of predrilling and making epoxy plugs for the basket, solely for more bite on the screws. I see no need to have to remove this. Seems like a...

Bilge pump pad wet and delaminating

Few blows with a hammer and flat bar. Soaked. I think the puddle underneath is gelcoat, it’s not resin and deff not wood. Guess I’ll rough it up, clean with acetone and fix the exact dimension pvc board in 1/2 in its place with 4200. The skin around the wood in back is still intact, no reason to...

Bilge pump pad wet and delaminating

Apparently the pad is designed for keeping the pump from sucking trash off the hull bottom. There’s a lot of mixed feelings about it, I would like to have it factory but, it requires more work, more money, money waiting to fish. I’m gonna remove and install the pvc board glue down or just use...

Bilge pump pad wet and delaminating

Agreed. So I was leaning on using PVC trim board, as it takes glue and actually bonds well to the glass. I’m deff not looking to glass it in after looking at the working space I have and the angles I would have to be in for a few hours. My body won’t be too happy. I’m gonna get the multi tool...
