Help with removing washdown thru hull seacock

complete horse ****. More people misuse silicone products than 5200, if you look around. And that is why, my good sir, God gave us marine appraisers, so we don't need to fix other people's mistakes unless we choose to. and by the way, I dont know if know that but 5200 has been manufactured and...

Help with removing washdown thru hull seacock

Dude, you can use bubble gum, for all I care, you won't have any trouble removing it when the time comes, and cleanup is way easier than 5200, lol. --

    Quarterly wax

I don't know if they changed their formula over the years, I have only used it in the last few years. What I started doing based on observations that appear to be similar to your experience is to wipe it off fairly quickly, if it sits for few minutes it does indeed become much harder to remove...

Newark Bay, NJ, tonight. I love that place, it's industrial grit.

Help with removing washdown thru hull seacock

This hull has enough wood in stringers, transom, water intrusion anywhere will find it through fiberglass delamination. If my factory mounted ducer ever becomes obsolete I would think twice about removing it; more likely cap it and leave it alone. --

Help with removing washdown thru hull seacock

@warthog5 your 5200 allergy is comical. My comment above was made tongue-in-cheek, but that does not change the fact 5200 is the best sealant for those kind of jobs, under the water line. Especially in a hull with wooden core, for God's sake, nothing would dissuade me from using anything but...

What do you do to stop those middle cushions from sliding back?

    Quarterly wax

I stick with Rejex, ever since I tried it once a couple of years ago.

    Finally, got to play.

If I do it myself I'll still be close to 5k with display and remote etc. So, to add another 20-30% at that point (for a professional install) is how I think about it - to make it a bit easier to swallow. And I'll admit, I'm a bit intimidated by the hydraulics, and having any leaks down the road...

Sea trial, 2520...follow up to my splash post

Docking my 2320, a 31' LOA single, in high winds in a crowded marina can be a $hit show! lolol I'm getting the hang of it though, once I realized I wasn't trimming the motor high enough in reverse, a basic necessity with a single on a big bracket.

    Finally, got to play.

I got the Garmin setup - Reactor 40 with GHC20, 1.2 l Pump, NMEA 2000 kit, Hose and fittings. Bought it from Gil on THT, it is sitting in a box waiting to be mounted by Tim of Octopus here. They are swamped so who knows when my number comes up.

    Finally, got to play.

I can't wait to get my AP installed, it is sitting in a box and waiting for the install, I had to get at the back of the line this spring. The truth is, the slower you go the more you need one, lol. How far? A few miles of trolling is enough to make you want it. The reels and rods are all some...

    Speaker Recommendations

I would go JL, if at all possible. Their speakers and amps seem to have no equals, for marine installations.

Bedding material for new deck hatch installation ?

So true. The stuff is designed to wick and spread... and it does!

    Finally, got to play.

I think I finally figured out the best way to operate the second station is by sitting down on the gunnel! At least for trolling, it works very well. (Wireless lanyards and AP scheduled for install in a week)

Bedding material for new deck hatch installation ?

Why would I do that? With all due respect, your angry comments about my tru hulls in this case are hard to take seriously. Just like plywood core in my Parker, any thru hulls are permanently mounted/glued/encapsulated into the hull. Things like rod holders, speakers, etc. can, and conceivably...
