    Shout Out f/ DaleH

When the West pumps are new, in fresh containers, they're great. But when a pump gets sticky or the volume in the can is low and the pump looses prime, or you want to mix just a tiny amount, then the pump systems get tricky. BTW, I like to use a pallet knife (like for oil paints) to mix and...

Thanks for turning me on to Raka epoxy. They ship the day I order and I get it the next day. Sooo easy to measure...consistent results. Thanks again.

    Fuel Prices

You go or you don't. If you do go, high gas prices just thin the herd.

    Repainting corrosion on bracket.

Wasn't the aluminum acid etched when it was originally painted? How often is it necessary...before every painting? My 40 year old outdrive is a mess of crud and pitting. It cleaned up pretty well with a soda blast. I'm just gonna paint it with about 4 coats of rattle can paint, no primer or...

Boat name ...... I need to pick one. Help!

Think about how your boat name will sound on the radio when you're communicating with a marina or asking the Coast Guard or a towing service for help.

I'd bleed them again. You don't have to put with that clunking.

Speaking of flat screens, I found an app that mirrors my phone plotter on a flat screen via HDMI cable. Sprint EVO on left...32" Samsung on right.

    Bottom fiberglass work

I have a freind who repairs surfboards professionally. He uses a UV cure poly or vinyl ester. He works inside in front of a huge exhaust fan while doing the grinding, then applies the fix (always using some kind of glass with the repair), then puts the repair in the sun to kick. For deep gouges...

    Fresh water holding tank

Plastic tanks are pretty inexpensive, but I needed A custom shape. I made a tank out of plywood, filletted all the inside corners with epoxy paste, then sloshed epoxy around inside the completed tank. It was still working well after 10 years when I sold the boat.

Yamaha 300 no suck garden hose

Hooking up the muffs and letting the water run wide open for about 15 minutes before lighting her up did it for me.

Just converted to a Mac. Software workaround?

I second the HTC. There's almost no need for anything else when you go EVO. Here's a Navionics chart: And you can do just about anything on your phone that Garmin will do, plus there's a much expanded marine search option. Charts for your area are about $12 at the Android Market.

Hey, In the scheme of things, this is important !

I agree it's important...very important. And I've tried 'em all. Single cup 12vdc coffee maker, 12vdc immersion coil, propane burner percolator. I even made 'designer' single cup packets by adding a single cup of my favorite grounds to a filter and tying it off. Then put it in the cup and pour...

Has anyone made or know where to buy the filler cushion..

I cut a piece of plywood to fit and took it to a local auto trim shop. They made it into a cushion for $35.
