Deals are you there, you just have to look every day. Have cash in hand and be ready to take off of work to be the first one to look at a boat when its posted for sale. Now is the time to buy too. People are pulling boats for the winter and don't want the hassle and expense of winterizing and...

2012 Parker 1801 sunbrellla boat cover from boat direct.

I may be interested. Can you please post photos of the boat with the cover on, so we can see how it fits? Thanks.

Determining condition of original aluminum fuel tank

Oh, so you're saying that I only saw a small portion of the tank between the baffles inside the tank where the sender unit hole is. I guess I just assumed those baffles were the edges of the tank, its hard to judge depth/size with a small scope. Bummer. I thought you meant the baffles in the...

Determining condition of original aluminum fuel tank

I went through the sending unit hole. I was able to un-bolt the sending unit through the pie pan access hatch and lift it up far enough to put the bore scope in. It was a real pain, but all the fuel tank replacement talk on this forum made me nervous. You're right though, I could not get it...

Determining condition of original aluminum fuel tank

I have a 1998 Parker 1800. I bought it about a year ago, and have put about 170 trouble free hours on the boat so far. It has the original aluminum gas tank. When I got the boat it was running fine, but i still drained the tank and then flushed several gallons of fresh gas + Seafoam though...

The Parker Lineup is Now Dead

I agree, the MV is why I bought a Parker. I fish some skinny water, where I'm in ~12'' of water putting around on my trolling motor. I also troll and drift fish a lot, and the MV stability at drift and trolling speed is really appreciated. Deep V has it's place, but for what I do the MV really...

I did not move the factory cleats or navigation lights. Here's a zoomed in pic and two new ones so you can see it better. The motor is angled so that the shaft lies about parallel with the edge of the boat when in the 'up' position. I like this positioning best, because the shaft doesn't get...

The Parker Lineup is Now Dead

Wow, that base price on the 21 SE went way up. Just a year or two ago the 21 SE was ~$15,000 cheaper! Maybe the last of the 'classic' models will command a premium because people will snatch them up before the new ones are gone forever? $150,000 for the new 22 is pretty steep though. That's...

Mine is a 1998 1800, so it does not have the anchor locker hatch on the deck. I don't think the hatch would interfere with mounting the motor, but the motor base might prevent you from opening the hatch very far? I don't have any close up pics of the motor mount, but you can get the idea from...

The Parker Lineup is Now Dead

I'm no expert, but on a boat with a drop in floor liner, there is generally less recessed area under the gunwale, because the floor liner also goes up and covers the insides of the hull under the gunwale. Think of it like a Bath Fitters drop in bathtub liner, lol. There is usually some flex in...

The Parker Lineup is Now Dead

On the 'classic' models, yes. The 'classics' still have wood stringers and plywood decks. The 'new' models seem to have an all composite construction with fiberglass stringers and a drop in deck liner.

I have a MotorGuide iX5 60'' shaft on my 1800. In 2ft seas the prop can break the surface an cavitate, but if its that rough it's hard to fish anyway. In 95% of conditions the 60'' shaft is long enough. If you fish in big waves though, move up to a 72''.

The Parker Lineup is Now Dead

This Parker factory tour video is from June 2021, and I think shows some sneak peaks inside the new models. Watch the segment from 9:00 minutes to 11:30 minutes. The Parker guy talks about their new all composite stringer design and moving away from using wood. I bet the new fiberglass...

trolling motor thrust, shaft length, brand recommendations - parker 1800

I have an older Parker 1800 an I installed a MotorGuide iX5 24 volt, 80 ft/lbs thrust, 60'' shaft length. It's a 2019 model motor. I've had no issues with it. The GPS antenna is also built in, so the only wires to run are your battery cables. Easy enough DIY job. I agree with Warthog5, I...

    Full Boat Cover 1801

I know this is an old thread, but I'm considering the Carver boat cover mentioned in the above post for my 1800. I don't have a bow rail though. Does anyone have photos of how it would fit without the bow rail? I don't want it to be too lose and collect and pool rain water. Eastern Marine...

Parts For Sale Custom Cover for 1800/1801

I may be interested. Can you post some pics of the cover on the boat? Does it have a zipper entrance to get in and out of the boat when the cover is installed? If so, what side is the zipper door on? Does it have a draw string or elastic around the bottom? What other sort of tie downs or...

    SeaDek installed in 2120

I've been thinking about putting SeaDek on the floor of my 1800, mostly because the original non-skid is a pain to keep clean looking. Any long term SeaDek reports? How is it holding up? How's the adhesion to the original Parker non-skid long term? Any issues with water being trapped...

Question about aftermarket console mounted T-top

Do you guys have any thoughts on this setup? I found this photo online, so sorry if this is one of you. It looks like this T-top's forward legs mount to the floor and the rear legs mount to the console. This would at least reduce my floor drilling/screwing. This appears to be the same...

I've neve caught a flounder in the Potomac. Are you running down to Point Lookout or Smith Point to find the flatties, or are you finding them farther upriver?

Nice to 'meet' you! Have you had any luck so far this season with Puppy Drum or Spanish Mackerel? I bottom fished around the Heron Bar with shrimp for drum and trolled the channel edge along St Clements Island for macs... and got nothing. With Striper season closed, I'm trying to learn how to...
