The 70 will take longer to plane. Had a Mako 19 with a 115, thought it could use more. Had a 17 Seaswirl with a 90, would not have wanted to drop to a 70.

Trolling for salmon and halibut is usually around two knots, so I don't think I would need more. Hi-thrust, do 9.9's from most manufactures come with a regular model and a hi-thrust model? What would make a 9.9 hi-thrust, prop pitch, different fuel settings?

Downgrading? How do you know what I had before? I wanted a second plotter and back-up fishing finder, wanted to try a CHIRP unit that would not break the bank...most of my bottom fishing is in 150ft or less, kind of fit the the bill.

I should have specified, I do have a thru-hull for one of my units, but this is for a transom mount for a Raymarine Dragonfly 7 pro

Did I read here a while back that common knowledge has it, that the best placement for a transom transducer is the flat spot right next to the drain plug, on a 2320? Thank you.
