Hi all,

I'm looking to install a Lewmar Pro Fish 700 on my 2320 SL and can't decide what size rode. I called Lewmar and they told me I should only use 3 strand 1/2" on the Pro Fish 700, however after researching this board I discovered it's best to use the 8 plait for the small anchor locker.

I'm looking at a 300 feet rode but what size is best for non slippage?

Thanks in advance everyone...

I have 300' of the 1/2" 8 plait on my 2120 w/ same windless. I beleive we have the same anchor locker, not a problem at all unless you let out 250" of rode then you will have to manually push the pile down or the windless will jam just before the anchor lears the water. This is because the winless is not over the center of the locker. No slippage at all with the 1/2".

Based on my research I would not use anything but the 8-plait, and if the winldess could handle it I would go 3/8" why would you want to go any larger?

I installed a Profish 700 freefall last fall. When I called Lewmar they told me to use
9/16" 8 plait rode.I went with 1/2" 8 plait. I used 3 strand on an earlier boat and 8 plait now. I would never go back to 3 strand. Just make sure you soak the 8 plait good for at least all night before using. I have a 2120 with a small anchor locker. The 8 takes up much less space It was a no-brainer for me. I bought my Lewmar and my rode and chain from Defender. Great prices and great service.
