I just crossed the 10 hour break-in period on 200hp Yamaha. I contacted the dealer regarding bringing back to have serviced as they suggested after the break-in. Dealer mechanic stated that it was fine to hold off as not to lose the boat during the holiday weekend. In fact he said as long as the service is done within the first 100 hours. Does this sound OK? This has been the perfect boat and motor. The 23SE is built for the Delaware Bay and surrounding waters. Throwing bucktails in the mouth of the bay yesterday, found ourselves in 3 to 4 foot chop. The boat walked right past other boats as we returned to the inlet keeping all on board nice and dry.

I think you need to find another place to service your boat. I just took my 250 Yammie in for the 20 hour breakin service. Yamaha recommends it.

I had mine done at about 20 hours or so too.

And I definitely wouldn't wait 100 hours to perform a 10/20 hour service. You'll need a second service by then (100 hours).

I agree with the group... don't wait. I had mine serviced at 20 hrs at the dealer. They said it was very important and that some problems can be detected early by looking at the oil.

I bet if you waited until that 100 hours to get serviced and you had a problem with the motor, Yamaha might give you a hard time or not warranty it at all. Why risk it. Get it done and honor your warranty.
