Had them on mine and took them off.Problem with mine was the rods would get kicked. After breaking a couple of guides I quit using them.

I kinda remember that on my 1999 2100 DVCC,but at least I had somewhere to store the rods as opposed to laying them down on the deck where they will definately get broken. I was also considering toe rails, but Im not sure if the gunnel height will allow them to function without pain ( on the knees)?

I had rod storage on both sides of the center console on my Dusky, with additional storage in the leaning post.
If you look carefully in this photo, you can see the tubes on the stbd side of the console.
If I can find a better photo, I'll post it.

Not a great photo, but it does show rods in the console rod holders, as well as in the leaning post.

Yeah,I saw that post/pic,I already have the same setup on the side of the console, but they can get in the way when fly casting,so I was looking to put 2 under each gunnel.
Thanks.

think Ill try 2 of these under each gunnell ? or mabey one and a toe thingy?
any thoughts/experiece?
thanks,Jerry

I removed my toe-boards from my 1801 and used some of the material to fabricate four "brackets" that are about 6" long with a hook on the inboard end to keep rods from falling off. I cut a small slot on the bottom inboard edge and installed bungee cord with a knot on the working end, that stretches across the top and down into the slot. Pretty much these work like hangers and I attched them at the same location as the toe-boards. I can put 3 to 4 rods on each side but generally keep my fish net and shrimp net on the STBD and a few rods on the PORT. I will attmept to post pics later.

sounds neat,I'd love to see a pic
why did you remove the toe boards? I guess you didnt use them,it wasent that the gunnels were too low?

thanks,Jerry

I never found myself using the toe-boards and felt that the 4 aluminum/ poly rod holders wasn't sufficient for me. The Starboard material the toe-boards were made of, works really well with wood-working tools. I will post pictures soon.
