Coming to the forum as I have started to finally get some soft spots in my 1990 Parker 1800 and am trying to decide whether to pay to have it replaced or do it myself.

Well around all three access hatches is where the softness has started but I recently ran some new wires and found that underneath the console I can almost push my hand through the floor. Being 30 years old I’d rather replace the whole deck instead of patching it.

Nope still the original, doesn’t leak at all but it has the 40 gallon tank and I’d like to put a 60 in bc of offshore fishing I do here.

If you’re asking what I would go back with then I am undecided

I am by no means an expert (or even much of a novice) in boat repairs but since your current flooring lasted 30 years (since its a 1990 boat) and the fact that 30 years ago Parker didn't fully encapsulate their plywood flooring, I would be inclined to re-use marine plywood and properly install it. It should last 30-40 more years (or more) and will be half the price of composite material. There is a lot of help on the internet but a website I frequent is - https://www.boatbuildercentral.com/

When there go to their "Builder's Forum" and their is a section on repairing boats. The members there will jump to help you and you will have access to all of the material you will need. Great site.

Good luck
