FOR SALE: 2004 Parker 2520XL Sport Cabin

(still under warranty!!!!!)

LOA: 25'4" Beam:9'6" Displacement:3375lbs Draft:15" Dead rise 16 deg Color: off-white
"SAY GOODBYE" has been very well maintained, excellent condition. Many custom additions and modifications make this Parker stand out from the others. This boat is in brand new condition. If you want a nice clean boat, you need to see this one. Go look at all the junkers for sale FIRST, then come see my boat!

Roomy open cockpit with steering, great for fishing. Very shallow draft makes this a great bay boat. Sharp entry makes for a smoother ride in choppy sea conditions. Good fuel capacity, fuel economy and seaworthiness also make this a good offshore boat. I have fished this boat confidently and regularly in both back bay and offshore waters. Pilot house design makes this an ideal striped bass boat for the Jersey coast but is also well ventilated for summer use.

You can view the data sheet published by Yamaha for this engine on the Sport Cabin model. They have not done the test on the 2520XL but there is no reason to believe it will be appreciably different. Also note this tes was done with a 2001 motor and the 2004 motor is considerably more efficient as they improved the design.

We are picking up our new boat this week. Dont want to be a two boat owner.
Bring offers.

Well, the definition of insanity is to own two boats at once. We are there. We bought our new crusing boat and this Parker must go.

Best offer will take her. I cant keep holding on to her. Bring offers.
If you want a nice clean boat you should look at this one.
I'll be down at the boat yard again this Fri morning to wash her up, keeping her clean. She is already waxed for the season, AND, comes with a FULL TANK OF GAS. That's a 172 gallon tank !

thanks

So what does that make me given that I have two boat (one works, one is really broke) and two wave runners (one semi-broke, one really broke)? :?

Sounds like a nice rig. Good luck with the sale. :)

Brian
Maybe you are more "boat crazy" than I am !

Yeah she is really a nice rig. This boat has execeeded my expectations. I have a bimini for her that is as new as it can get, used only a few times each summer, and only mounted on the boat for about 3 weeks each summer.

The windlass is from GOOD WINDLASS company, one of the best you can buy. AND, its mounted properly,,,,which means directly over the depest part of the anchor well. I have seen how some Parker dealers mount the windlass on the bow pulpit. It wont work because the line will be piling up over the bow of the boat (not the deep part of the anchor well) and it will end up in terrible tangles! I have 400 ft of anchor rhode and 20 ft of chain. Great wreck fishing boat!

I see you are from Port Republic MD....we have a Port Republic NJ that is nearby to where I live!

Having some people recently look at the boat. Getting some potential sale action. Still available though as money has not crossed the table.

I got a quote from GOOD,they were very pricey to the tune of 2637 installed on a 2120.
I bought a Lewmar 700 Pro-fish free fall with 300' anchor rode and 15' chain,Delta 14 lb Fast set for a little over a grand, hopefully the rigger will install it next week before I heal up enough to get back fishing for under 500.

Lucky John:
You saved youself a lot of out of pocket money, but didnt get the same product. Check out the warranty on the LEWMAR windlass. They specifically inform you that you CAN NOT allow the anchor line to remain straight to the windlass after the anchor is deployed. You MUST cleat it off to the boat.
Go here
http://en.lewmar.com/products/index.asp ... page_id=57
then look under :

Safety At Anchor
Windlasses are not designed to hold high loads while a boat is at anchor. When the windlass is not is use and the boat is at anchor, the anchor rode should be secured using a chain stopper or attached to a load bearing point such as a cleat.

Note that this is NOT the case with GOOD Windlasses. They ARE designed to allow you to deploy the windlass and walk away, allowing you to leave the anchor line direct to the windlass while at anchor.
The reason is how the clutches are built. The LEWMAR windlass clutch will crumble if you do this, and void the warranty.
Call GOOD Windlass and ask them if this will voide their warranty, and also call LEWMAR. 'Taint the same.

The LEWMAR windlasses are anchor deployment and retrieval devices. If you hold the boat at anchor with them you violate paragraph A, iii, a. use of a product in an application for which it was not designed or
intended; and f. conditions that exceed the product’s performance specifi cations or safe working loads. (its all spelled out on the last page of the operation manual in Section 8).

Lastly, be SURE your "rigger: installs it correctly. That is, the windlass MUST be over the deepest part of the anchor well. Parker installations in which the windlass is on the bow sprit WILL NOT accomplish this, as it is directly over the stem of the boat (ie the bow). Your line will tangle and knot up on you. I have some pictures of windlass installations on Parkers that are totally incorrect. Email me for more info, as I dont have those pics with me on this computer (but do have them at home).

Lucky John
I now see you live in Manahawkin NJ.
Geeze, you are right down the road from GOOD Windlass in Barnegat. If you ever have any kind of problem, you could drive it right over there. Or, they could come easily to your boat.
R.

Ralph I appreciate your input, but Good was just too expensive for me right now.I knew before I installed the Lewmar that I had to tie off on the cleat, the rigger told me this before I purchased unit.
When I start bottom fishing again,I'll see how good or bad this windlass will perform.
Good was 2637,then add on Delta Anchor 130 + tax plus a good swivel and you are looking at 2800,that's alot of wood

John:
I didnt buy another anchor when I added the GOOD Automatic windlass to my 2520XL Parker. I tried it first with the Danforth that came with the boat. I found that it works well. Be sure to get 20ft of chain so you can anchor with more assurance in water that your line may not be quite long enough for. I have 20ft chain and 400 ft of rode. I anchor at the AC Reef a lot and in water up to 90-100 ft. The scope is short by normal standards but with extra chain, she holds. I also dont go to wrecks that deep if the wind is blowing hard.

You will love having a windlass for wreck fishing. Its great !
R.

I have received an offer on my boat. If you are still interested, please make your best offer at this time.
thanks
R.

The boat is now under contract of sale. Settlement is scheduled for Wed 7/25.

thanks

I have done the two boat thing too. Not fun. Unfortunately I am currently doing the two house thing with the slow housing market

Congrats on the sale!
