Does any one have a kicker motor on a 2320 Parker. It has a Armstrong Bracket. I want a 4 stroke--15 hp. But is this enough power to keep me into the waves. Lets say 10 to 12 ft. seas !!! I spoke to Parker and Armstrong and they will not give me a answer. They said it has to do with the Seas====Wind------Tide---- So I told them 10 ft. seas with 20 knots winds going into the current. Still -they said --Mabe or buy a biger boat. I canot do that.. I was out tuna fishing this year -it was a Friday --the last day of The White Marlin Tournament. I went to the Lobster Claw -
They were only 4 ft. seas. In one hour they were 8 to 10. Starter back home. 10 to 12. With one motor --I was Scrared !!! If that motor shut down, I would of been in trouble. Putting a kicker on, just to keep me into the seas untill I call for help or just go back home slow.
I want to thank all of you for given me this info. I am so glad I found this site. Thank you Marty D.

Most Armstrong brackets already have the mounting holes for a kicker bracket (also an Armstrong item).
Look at the trailing edge of your bracket on the port side. You should see two plastic plugs that cover the mounting holes. That is where the kicker bracket goes.

Most folks who mount a kicker put on a 9.9 hp 'high thrust' kicker. 15 hp is overkill and won't push the boat any better than the high thrust motor.

All the parts needed for the install can be sourced from your dealer, or on the used market.
Good luck with your project!

9.9 High Thrust is all you would need. On the west coast that's all they use on 90% of the boats and I've seen. I've seen some really big boats with that exact motor on it. May not get you home quickly but, will let you make slow, steady progress. Keep you safe an still under power until the CG can come and help(or another boat) There are lots of different aftermarket brackets available. Contact Armstrong directly. http://classicparker.com/phpBB2/viewtop ... ght=kicker

I have a 9.9 4stroke on my 2520XL MV. Will make 7knots on calm to 2 foot chop. I was suprised by how much this little engine will do. It should keep the bow into the wind or run the face on a quartering sea. Steering hooked to main engine with a stainless rod. The 15 may be too heavy for the balance of your 2320. Lots of things to think about.
