hey guys,

just out today for the first of the season and had problems gettting my port engine started... it would turn over but just die after 3 to 5 secs...

about a month ago we did a full 100 hours service on her and changed all filters ect... it feels maybe like it is not getting fuel and i am sure the fuel is not so so go....

i did look at the fuel filter on the engine and did look like it had maybe some water or bad fuel in it...

should i clean that out and maybe get some new fuel in her?? anyone have the same issue..

thanks for your help

Jamie,

If it doesn't look good, I'd pull it and pour the fuel into a jar to see if it 2-phases.
Since both motor draw fuel from the same tank, if one filter has issues, the other should too. If that is not the case, I'm not sure what to tell you.

hey kevin,

that is what i was thinking , why would one go if they both draw from the same tank... since the filter is brand new , are u able to take it off and poor it out and re use? or should i get a brand new filter....?

let me know your thoughts....

kevin

thanks for getting back ... i got her to fired up today , put in some fresh gas and started her pretty much wide open... and what ever was in there... is not anymore... haha! just think it sat a little to long... thanks for getting back anyway..

Good to know!

Gotta tell you that I was a loss as to why one wasn't good, and the other was!

Take care brother!
