I have a repower question and apologize if I am posting it in the incorrect spot. We are currently running a 21 DV Parker center console. The hull is either a 98 or 99 (I can't remember off the top of my head. It is currently powered with 2004 200hp yam 4stroke (dry weight 583 lbs). The previous owner put the wrong shaft size motor on the boat so there is a jack plate on the back. This has led to some serious transom damage. Long story short we are having the transom replaced, reinforced with gussets, and raised. We will also be repowering the boat at this time.

Our original plan was to repower it with a new Yam F225 (562 dry weight). However, the engine is on backorder. We ordered it in February. Was supposed to arrive in June, but now the yam rep is saying April 2022. We simply cannot wait this long.

Our new plan is to order the newest Honda 225 (622 dry weight). The rep says we could get the motor delivered within 3 weeks.

My question for the community here is. Can the 1999 Parker 21 DV CC handle this weight on the back?

Thanks!

I wouldn't hesitate for one second. 60lbs should make no difference with a new transom, and you wouldn't be adding any more torque with a motor of similar power. You are not talking about adding a second motor.
Hondas are fantastic motors and very quiet.

I have had success emailing Parker with questions like this and they have been very responsive. I'm sure they would tell you what the hull is rated for.

I would think you should consider the balance of the boat along with 'can the transom handle the thrust'. I would think the 2 stroke of the day in 1998 was probably mid to high 400lbs
