Good morning, gentleman. My wife and I are closing on our new home this Friday in Jacksonville, Fl. One of the 1st items to do is begin construction of an enclosed pole barn for the Parker 2120 to sleep at night nestled on her trailer. Currently, she is high and dry at a marina, dry stacked. Could someone please measure the heigth of their 2120 on their trailer for me from the ground to the top of the cabin roof?
I can then add the radar mount and radar to that figure to allow me to accommodate the front entrance.
Currently, I am having a 14 foot entrance, but I'd like to know specifically the height.
Thanks in advance.

I think the type of trailer and the type of bunks will make a big difference. I built a barn for mine with the door opening 12' tall and it is plenty of clearance. I have the plans I could email you if you would like. The door opening is 9'9" wide and the boat has a few inches of clearance on each side but the trailer fenders only clear by a couple of inches. My fenders are outside the width of the boat.

Let me know your email and I can send you the plans/drawings. The barn actually is not just for storing the Parker so it has two sliding doors. I don't have a picture of the Parker in the barn but here is one of the other side.

You need a 14ft wall. This will allow for a 12ft tall door.

The RV shelter has 13ft walls and 14 to the peak. No door.

You will need at least 40ft deep to get the whole rig under. More would be better depending on the direction it faces and the way the sun hits it.

You don't want sun hitting a part of the boat every day.

Those answers are exactly what I needed to know, Steve and Bobby. Do I understand you correctly, Wart, that 12 foot (height) doors will give me plenty of clearance for the pilothouse on the trailer w/ a 4 inch seascan mounted Garmin radar unit? Indeed, 20 X 40 was what I had in mind. Thanks both of you for your contribution. Wart, can you just verify the above information for me? THANKS!

now I've got some serious barn-envy.

Mine was "supposed to be" a weekend "storage shed" project until I found this site: http://www.diypolebarns.com/

My kids said they would help me build a storage shed but I didn't think they would volunteer for a barn. I didn't show them the plans until they came over to help.

It was a learning experience for me since I'm not a carpenter. Well worth the time and money but I won't do it again.

Speaking from experience build as much as you can afford and as much as you have space for. Mine is 30 X 40 and I wish I would have went 40X40.

I might just be adding one of those RV storage areas like Warthog posted!

Yes....It'll fit.

Mine is 12ft wide. I'd have made it 18ft wide, BUT......5ft set back from property line. I poured 40ft of concrete for it....Then another 50ft in front of that.....It's still not enough.

Something that I ran across at Harbor Freight that I installed.

http://www.harborfreight.com/8-ft-x-16- ... 60582.html

This mesh tarp allows the breeze to blow thru, while shading the morning sun. It helps a little with leaves trying to blow in.

The RV shelter is cool. As you see I extended the sides down some. It creates a Vortex of air flowing thru there. It's was $3500 installed. That does not include the concrete.

I've seen another one that was really nice. They dug footers and poured a slab. Then came up about 3 block high. The RV shelter support beam sat on the block. The block were poured with concrete and "J" bolts installed .
