I have a 21 SE 2001 and I noticed the other day that the bow nav lights wont turn on. My 360 all around is mounted on my t-top and that works.

I traced the wire and it runs into the battery box and then into the center console. The sheathing on one of the wires, where it enters the battery box, is pretty stripped, but in still in one piece and has always worked before...

I am by no means an electrician. Should I check the fuses? Or just replace the wire? Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Just wondering if this is a DIY or I need to bring in an expert.

If your bow light is a combo red/green, you may simply have a burnt out bulb.
Check that first...

Nearly every time my bow light has quit working it was due to corrosion on the bulb, burnt bulb, or bulb contact corrosion. I would open up the bow light and check out the bulb first. Flip the switch and put a 12 volt tester or volt meter on the contacts and check to see if you have power at the light.

Thanks for the responses. Will check the bulb first. Thats what I do at home...

jervin, in addition to checking the bulb and the contacts in the bow light, as mentioned in the above posts, I would definetly recommend fixing that bare wire.
