I am seriously looking at a 1997 23' Blue Water Edition CC with a 225 Johnson. I am just looking for any kinds of feedback, bad, good, what to look for, known problems (boat & motor),etc...

I have only seen the boat in pictures but am hoping to see her in person by the weeks end. The boat looks awesome in the pictures.

Any feedback!

Thanks everyone!

The 23 Blue Water Edition is a typical Parker 23 that received some Florida custom touches from one of the local So FL dealers (not certain which one). It's a marketing thing, and a pretty good one.

Other than the custom, regional upgrades and editions, they are pretty much like any other 23CC you might find, except for the cool "Blue Water Edition" graphics. :)

FWIW I run the same motor on my mod-V vintage 25' cabin model. Darn thirsty motors, but reliable. Make sure to pitch her so you turn screws for at least ~5700 RPMs, in the Spring with clean painted bottom on her, with all gear you'll carry.

Prop it right, cruise around 4K and she'll last for years. Running up to 4800 for runs to fish is fun, but anything over 5K burns fuel like a raped ape! Oh yeah, decarb her with Seafoam ever 50-hours.

If thats the boat in NJ named NIKKI I took a look at her last fall. Hull is in good condition and looked good. As for the johnson, the broker told me it had 120 hrs on it..I thought hard to believe for a '97, I didn't do a compression check, but just at first glance after removing the cover, you could tell it had much higher hours and/or recieved little attention. I offered the guy 13K thinking it would be a repower and the owner came back with 15k..without the trailer. Not sure what they are asking now, but would think they would still take 15k if not lower. Good Luck

I have a 1997 21dvcc "Bluewater" edition. I spoke to the dealer and Parker about the differences.

It had an upgraded prop and a custom T top. Thats it.
