All this snow this winter has made us lucky enough to buy a new boat. Trying to decide Pilot house or CC . We have looked at other boats but keep coming back to the Parker. I have followed this forum for a few yrs and have seen a few guys buy pilot houses only to sell them somw what soon after. Dont want to make a mistake on this one. We crab alot in the summer and did alot of early spring fishing and late fall fishing and this boat will also end up in Marco Island Fl for a few months in the middle of the winter to fish the gulf and inland. Is there any reason not to buy a pilot house boat ? I enjoy the cc we have now and wouldnt mind another . Just trying to decide ? Is there anyone who dislikes the ride on the 23 pilot or cc ? Will wait for replies as its time to go out and plow for a few more days .

Depends what you are using it for. Boats, ultimately, are tools. Get the tool that best suits the job you will be using it for. Sounds like the early and late season activities call for a pilot house.

I have the DVCC. We like it because we can fish all the way around the boat. The trade off is the lack of protection from the weather, lack of secure storage, and a private head. For us, it is the right tool. Might not be in the future.

I spent 15 years in a center console and thought it was a great platform for fishing. I bought a parker 21sport cabin last year and after the first season have no regrets or second thoughts. I live in the Northeast and as such have a pretty short boating season. I can tell you I picked up several extra days on the water becuse of the protection and comfort the cabin provides. Huge increase in storage space was another big plus. There is ample fishing space in the back and you can safely fish the bow for a full 360 degree platform. With the windows open you can even feel the wind on your face if you're concerned you'll feel trpped in the cabin. The big downside I found was visibility was reduced due to some blindspots created by the cabin, trolling by myself is a hassle and docking in tight quarters is tougher when you're used to throwing a leg over the side to fend off a dock or another boat. I can tell you I'm very pleased with my choice and expect to be in this boat for years to cme.

I have the 2120 and like the protection of the cabin rain, snow, cold, sun etc. Reading other posts I have the dual station for docking, trolling etc. Docking is no problem at all with the dual station. Would not have a single station to much running around. i like it simple & let's just go fishing.

I had a Grady CC before getting my Parker SC. As everyone has said, the CC is easier to handle alone but I don't miss getting wet on a ride back in to dock in November and December.

My wife also like the pilot house and as such spends more time on the boat with me. I'll let you decide if that is a plus or a minus.
