Greetings!

I have been researching 21-23 walkaround boats and am VERY CLOSE to purchasing a new 2310 DV WA with single Yamaha F250 on a bracket. I am planning to use the boat for offshore fishing and cruising in the Northeast but will also be using the boat for SCUBA diving. I hear about excessive rolling and side-to-side instability of deep vee boats when anchored or at trolling speeds. Will the boat provide a reasonably stable dive platform for people to suit up, don heavy gear etc.?

I know there is no "perfect" boat out there but I have my heart set on 2310, she is simply gourgeous, particularly with the hardtop...any advise or comment is greatly appreciated.

Will hopefully post some more questions in the near future.
Thanks.

I just posted about something similar on another thread.. in my view, some of the traditional off-shore Deep-V fishing boats with ~24* of deadrise and narrower beams will certainly rock more than a Parker with a 8'6" beam and 21* of deadrise. Everything is a trade-off, but I think you'll be happy with your choice.

I have the 2510, and I'll agree with you that the WA is a gorgeous model...especially with the hardtop.

Mine is the older MV hull with the 14 deg. deadrise. The new hulls are either XL (16 deg), or DV (21 deg.).

Have never been on an XL or DV, so I can't talk about the ride. The MV is a very stable fishing platform, but does pound in high chop. For the Bay and tidal rivers she is great. If I was going offshore a lot, I'd go for the DV.

Welcome, the Boston waters just got better, another Parker in the habah. You'll see alott out there. Usually it's the 22-24* dead rise with less than an 8" beam that have this problem.(bikini fishing team types) I get waked by many a close lobster boat while at anchor fishing, no problem. Seems the beam width and 21* are a perfect match to avoid chop and still have good platform while at rest. ENJOY!

Put in my 2310 Tuesday. Nice and early. What a day, in the 80's and its April!! Now to get out to Stellwagon for that great Cod/Haddock bite. Best of luck with yours alexis. Your going to love it!
