I have searched the forum for Suzuki/Prop pairs and found lots of discussion and more posts than I could hope to analyze but I figure one question should narrow the choices.

Boat is 2000 Parker 2520 with closed transom and a 2005 DF225 Suzuki on the extension. What are the best prop choices-brand, blade number, dia. and pitch. We will be loaded with 4 to 6 people, a couple of ice chests and fishing gear as our heaviest configuration. Don't know what is on it now--Also, don't know what the tabs are but suspect they were the standard tabs. If I put larger tabs on it will I have to change the prop? Lets assume OB is hung at correct depth for the prop discussion. Signing contract with offer and will sea trial the boat next week if we can come to terms on the price.

Sounds to me your putting the cart before the horse.....You haven't even run the boat....How do you know it's not the best prop on there right now?

My experience with mod-V 2520s, and motors from 225 to 250hp, tells me that a premium 4-blade prop will likely be the best for carrying that load. But like Warthog5 says ... it could be OK as is.

Your are right, I don't know, but if performance is questionable and I see an Alum prop on it I would like to know what it will cost to go to a better prop and what that prop might be. Negotiating point maybe. I have seen Merc Rev 4 17 mentioned. I can price that one for a reference point. Thanks

$500-$600 for a premium 4-blade SS prop, either the Rev 4 or the PowerTech Offshore series. Ken @ PropGods sold me the PTech when he didn't have a Merc Rev 4 on hand and the performance was fantastic.
