Looking at a 2520 xl with a 200 hpdi.
Is this enough engine for this hull or will it leave me wanting bigger?
I am not in a hurry to get anywhere but would like to at least know it will get up on plane with a moderate load.

I've got a 2520 w/ 225 yamaha 2 stroke. Plenty of power.
Sounds like the one you're looking at might be a little under powered but I really can't say. Why not do a sea trial and find out?

The boat is 1000 miles away so a quick sea trail would not be to feasable.
Never had a parker but after seeing one up close I fell in love with the amount of room.
Also would a 7900 rated trailer be enough?

I think a 2520 XL would be underpowered with the 200. Prior to the introduction of the 250 Four Stroke, the XL's came with the 225. Most of the never XL's have the 250. I have been on XL's with both the 225 and 250. In my opinion, I would not want anything less than a 225. Good luck.

PS - if the boat you are looking at is the 2520 MV and not an XL, the 200 would be a perfect match.

I geuss I am getting confused.it has a modified Vee
Listed as a 2520,it has the offshore braket.
ok what is the diff xl and the MV?

I thought the xl was the offshore bracket and the xld was offshore bracket deep vee

I am going to 2nd the above reply.(The one above yours) On the trailer you need the gross weight of the trailer to be around 10.500lbs. Then you can carry on the trailer around 8200.00lbs. Make sure the weight you talk about is the actual carry weight or the actual total gross weight of the trailer. The 2520 is a heavy boat, with a 173 gallon fuel load, engine, and gear. I also would highly recommend that it have brakes on both axles as well as 6 lug hubs, and 8-ply tires.

Good Luck

Moldy the 2520 MV has a 14 degree deadrise and has the smaller cabin - two helm seats. The 2520 XL has a deep entry and a 16 degree deadrise with the larger cabin - (aft side facing seats). The XL needs more horespower.

And the 2520XLD has a 21 degree deadrise and usally has twins, or a single 350hp. As it needs more horsepower to push it through the water also.

thanks for clearing me up guys! that's why I came to this site.
I will find the boat in time, just a tad anxious
