I presently have a 2008 2520SLD with a 250 Yam. Am trying to find some one who has one with a 300 Yam or Suzuki to see what the gain is? I have to run hard to get 25 mph cruise, especially in heavy chop. Would like to cruise 25 without running 4800rpm. I fish the bay and ocean out of Virginia Beach. Can be very tough to stay on plane on sloppy days. Jack

Change to trim tabs no less than 24" wide and you'll be on plane down to high teens MPH.

I had the same issue with my 2520XL. Swapped the stock 3 blade Yamaha prop with the Rev 4 17 pitch prop. Have no problem getting on plane at 3800 rpm. Nice cruise speed at 23 knots turning 4200 rpm. Still running the original trim tabs.

Ditto to what blizzard said -Work on the props first-we are running Rev 4's as well and noticed a difference after changing from stock yamaha props. Alot cheaper then a re-power. try ken at propgods.com he helped us out and I know someother members have used him on this forum as well
