Ok so I have been coming through the forum but I cant make my search terms specific enough to get a good result so I am asking about projects that may be on here already to forgive me

1) I really dont like my "fish boxes" that are in my transom, has anyone taken them out and freed up more room in the cockpit?

2) Creating a tuna door for my 2320, If i get the transom boxes out that is what I would love to add, so again if anyone has done this please let me know

thanks

Andrew

I prefer to call them "storage containers" rather than fish boxes. The 2320 does not like weight in that area so using the transom boxes for heavy stuff like ice and fish is not the best idea. It really negatively affects ride quality/performance. I used the transom boxes for buckets of bait, and other handy items/bulky things that needed to be stowed. It was nice that everything drained overboard when cleaning up in that area

The transom boxes can come out but the transom lids and such are integrated into the cap and cutting into them would affect structural integrity. That said however, there is a CP member who did install a tuna door. His pic lives somewhere on this site but I don't have it handy.

If you remove the trays/boxes under the lids without cutting into the cap, what you would essentially wind up with is more room for your feet and a large gap that would allow water/spray to easily get into the bilge, batteries, switches, etc.

I wouldn't mess with it personally.
