Hey guys...

I removed the logo from my 1801 in advance of getting a new one thanks to Tom. The problem is I'm having a little trouble removing the adhesive. I tried Goo Gone but that didn't work...what's next? WD-40?

Also, I washed the are right afterward to get the Goo Gone off...should I worried that I'm not going to wax it until I get all the adhesive off? Will it damage the gel coat or anything like that?

Thanks for any help.

I just did mine with a heat gun, that took most of the adhesive off with the decal, then cleaned with acetone and buffed with 3M heavy duty to get rid of the ghosting. Cleaned with acetone agin before applying vinyl.

I just replaced the Parker decal on the starboard side of my boat and I used a Decal Eraser, don't laugh there is such a thing. I get them at a local autoparts store. Believe it or not it looks and feels just like an eraser. It goes on an electric drill. The only thing you have to be careful not to run it more than like 1500 RPM's as you could burn the Gelcoat. Just take you time and it will erase it all and all you have to do is wipe it down after and you are ready to go.

Home depot-- Stuff called Goo Gone.. Citris based and worked great. I used to get the glue from the old registration numbers off.
