I almost lost mine on Sunday. Going from boat to dock she lost it. Into the drink and a few HUGE bruises on the way down. After three full seasons and now half way into the fourth she has been christened.

Been there done that....I didn't even drop my drink but it cost me some badly bruised ribs and a cell phone

Believe it or not more people get hurt getting on and off there boats than they do in them.

Too many people don't know that you are supposed to wait till the boat is at the dock before they jump off.

A freind of mine was boating with his wife when she fell overboard and was presumed drowned. The next day the Coast Guard called him and told him they had bad news for him and some good news...He asked for the bad news and was told they pulled his wife up and was indeed drowned and covered with 10 lb. lobsters when they pulled her from the bottom. When he asked for the good news they told him they would be pulling her up again tommorrow.

Trust me, I found out last week...

I was doing some 'boat maintenance' and had (bare) wet feet...
The docks at my marina are brand new (completely replaced), so they are smooth as a babies a$$.

I stepped off the boat to turn off the water hose and slipped...
I knew instantly that I was going in the water if I didn't do something, so in the blink of an eye, I folded up my left leg and hit the deck.

I didn't go in, but I got a very bloody scrape and a beautiful purple bruise in an instant. :(

MaxOut is right. Getting on and off the boat is where folks get hurt.
