I've had trouble anchoring my 2501 the last few trips. I have upgraded my chain to 16 foot on my anchor. It has helped but still have problems occasionally. Thinking of adding a windlass to my boat since if I have to put a bigger anchor on it won't fit in the anchor locker. What can I but on the bow to hold the anchor really dont want a pulpit since I'm already pushing the size for my slip. Or is there a way I could get a anchor to set right that would fit in the anchor locker?

You probably need to clear the rope out so the shaft can sit right in the holder.

Someone here glassed a PVC tube in their locker to facilitate the line, a search might turn up the post.

I don't have a locker on my 2530, actually prefer it that way, less water intrusion.

Even 16' of chain is a little light for a 25' boat.
20 to 25 is generally used. 1' of chain per foot of boat is the rule of thumb.

What kind of bottom are you anchoring on, and what type of anchor are you using now?
