So we decided to bite the bullet and get the bottom soda blasted last month. We followed all instructions and everything looks great.
It sat for two weeks after the soda blast due to my schedule, but then we wiped the entire bottom with the Interlux Solvent, then sanded the bottom, then wiped with solvent again. 4 coats of barrier coat, gray, white, gray, white. Our first coat of paint was the "tell" coat, blue, Micron Extra. We will be ending with black, also Micron Extra. My question is how many coats of the black would you put on? The instructions clearly state something like 'years of performance is directly related to the # of coats applied' or something to that effect.
I'm getting mixed answers on how many coats of black to put on. I was hoping after all of this work, I won't have to touch another roller for 2 years or so. I understand I'll have to touch up the water line from year to year. Sooo, how many coats of black? If I do one coat, do you think the blue will be showing through next year?
Thanks.
