I have started a search for the right boat and power. I am too old to recover from a dumb mistake so your help would be appreciated. The boat will reside in SE Alaska near Ketchikan (140 inches of rain per year and cool but not cold). A work day looks like 2 hours running on the main(s) and 3 to 5 on the kicker or one of the mains to troll for salmon, hold a spot over halibut, work crab and shrimp pots. Total operating time per summer would be about 250 hours. I have trouble with the idea of putting kicker time on a high horsepower power plant. I would use the kicker for a come home motor also as I would carry separate fuel for that purpose. Comments and suggestions please!
