I have a 2520 with the four standard rod holders and now thanks to members on this website have three more to install. I was planning on putting in one on each side about 30" forward of the one that is mid-cockpit. I have a third that I was thinking of putting in the middle piece of starboard between the two center hatches of the "fish box". I was thinking that this might not be strong enough so figured I'd ask here before drilling. I'm going to make all hardware thru bolts - if the piece breaks, it can be replaced.

How do others have there 2520's set up?
4200 OK for this application?

Thanks

thanks FF. That was my hunch. Another option is the bracketed removable rod holders - problem is they are not as strong and mounting them would seem to be difficult because of no easy access for thru bolts. The best solution (not the best looking) practically speaking is the bar going across the cockpit with removable rod holders mounted - someone posted here not long ago.

How close is too close together on the sides? On a 2520 can you fit 4 per side?
thanks
