Today at the mechanic I noticed that my outboard bracket is starting to spauld, where the paint is bubbling , is looks like dywall when fixed with fixall and it starts to spauld, and you can scrape the paint off and it turns to dust, he told me to fix I need to take a larger area and strip down to the raw metal , prime and paint, anybody have any experience on this happening to them, I can go by and take a pic, it it will help !

Yep, a bunch of us are having the problem of the paint flaking off the Armstrong bracket. I have to deal with mine next fall/winter.

There is at least 1 thread dealing with this. I believe it was Bryan A. who fixed his.

Just got off the phone with Armstrong, they are sending me everything I need to fix, no charge, I like it when companys are helpful, does not happen often !!!!!!

Very nice!!!

Just a tip, I used a 3/4" artist bruch to apply and it worked great. Go with thin coats and try not to mess with the paint too much. It seems to setup shortly after you brush it on. Wetsand between coats will give you a smoother finish.

Good luck!!
