battery voltage

when i turn the key to on without the engine running my yamaha command link reads 12.5 for both batteries.
Are they fully charged.
What should the reading be.

Yes.....But tech each cell = 2.1V which would be 12.6V

That is a good number, but routinely check each battery to ensure you don't have an issue with one of them. A dead cell in one battery and a switch turned to both batteries will kill the other battery leaving you with no power.

Which brings up a good point.

reading batteries "Combined" is not a good thing. you reall don't know what your reading.

You want to read the Start battery independent of the House battery and visa-versa.
