First off... dreams do come true! :D
Just place my order for a new DP300APX SUZUKI 300HP OUTBOARD (25" SHAFT)
Schedule to to be in San Diego Ca and installed in the middle of December!

Looking for some recommendations for the best prop for the job. I'm definitely a Big Game Hunter who spends endless hours flying the kite at 7-10 knots for big bluefin. A typical trip for me is min 200 miles, pushing my oldie but goodie yamaha-250 at 30 knots every chance I can. Maybe that's why I blew the power head last month... Nightmares do come true as well :( (FYI Its priced to sale @$2500 if anyone is interested. ANYWAY...
ANY SUGGESTIONS ON THE RIGHT PROP FOR THE JOB?
YOUR FEEDBACK IS VERY MUCH AND SINCERELY APPRECIATED

Sorry forgot to send a pic here it is. I will probably raise it up a hole or 2 next spring steering is quite stiff at higher rpms.

Congrats ! Not sure about the prop, but I noticed your comment about blown Powerhead and running hard. That’s my worst fear !! I hope running higher rpm is not the cause. I was sort of under the impression that running these big 4 strokes at higher rpm / speeds was actually better for the engine. Yamaha told me they’d like to see me try and balance out cruise speed rpm’s with a regular dose over 5000 rpm. Every time I’m running at 40 mph + I can’t help to worry about reducing the engine life, but thought it was actually better for the engine ?

I blew up my 2005 F225 in September. Engine lived a rough life, pushing around my Parker 2520 usually full with either technical dive gear or fishing coolers. The engine needed to run 4800 RPMs to keep the boat on plane. The boat was definitely underpowered but that F225 never let me down through 1842 hours. Dropped a valve at 1843 hours and that was it. I had massive water intrusion into the oil, either a blown head gasket or a water jacket corroded through, oil quit being oil and salt water makes a really bad lubricant.

I think it was the corrosion not the revs that caused my engine’s demise. Gave me 13 great seasons and 1842 trouble free hours, aside from a midsection rebuild at 650 hours.
Engine will be missed, sipped fuel and never skipped a beat........
