Far and away they say that Soft Scrub with Bleach is THE best cleaner they've used, but it sure isn't green due to its toxicity. They also note it should be used with care as overtime it can degrade frp gelcoat and finishes.

Best GREEN cleaner:

Thetford Boat Wash

Other:

Simple Green All Purpose, West Marine's various boat soaps, and Starbrite's 'Sea Safe' boat soap were also strong performers.

Interesting:

Even the least toxic cleaner can take weeks to degrade to 'safe' levels ...

I've seen guys use Soft Scrub every week. Doesn't make full sense. They don't realize the amount of grit and for the water they don't understand the killing power of chlorine.

I've used West Marine stuff for years. May buy different this fall or spring.

Was interesting seeing results on Simple Green versus their ad claims.

I also have a bottle of Marine Spray Nine that I use in some areas in the cabin at times.

This type of work was what Boat Reports did before they stopped publishing, as Dale knows.
