Hey guys,

I purchased an 1989 Parker 25 sport cabin from another member on the board. Great boat. We have put a new polish on her and fixed a few repairs in the clear coat and have begun working on the motors which seem to be in really good shape despite what the mechanic had to say. Anyway the boat is missing the bow rails. This is a model without the pulpit. I am going to replace it and know that West Marine has several options for stainless steel bow rails but I don't know what the angles are for for the mounts starting from the back of the cabin to the bow. Does anyone know?

I will post pics of the restoration as we get a little closer.

thanks
Bill

Call Parker and get a welded rail for that model, the West Marine stuff is put together with connectors I believe, you won't be happy with it.

You might be surprised on the cost from Parker, its probably pretty close to what you would pay at West.

FYI, ~ 5-years ago or so I updated from the old bow rail to the one with the integrated pulpit built into it. Only cost $1100 back then. I think I paid another $100 for it to be shipped, in the cockpit of another 25' model being shipped to the local dealer that is.

I too would tell you to buy a single-welded unit over a piece-built rail. Oh, if you really want a cool and SAFE factor, add the higher-off-the-deck 'West Coast' railing.

Thanks guys. I have the dealer looking to fabricate one for me, they don't have them in stock (suprise). I need to take some pics of the restoration. This parker sure is starting to look pretty.

well the parker dealers don't make this part anymore so I'm going to have t fabrcate one. They are trying to get me the specifications and I'll make one from there. I imagine I'll need some of the parts from west marine and then weld the rest from raw stainless steel. Lord I can't wait to get on this boat. I'm like a kid waiting to open presents on Christmas.

okay gents here is a pic of her when I picked her up. First we built a new 2011 aluminum I beam trailer.

As Dale said, if you really want a genuine bow rail that actually fits, call the Parker factory and ask them to quote you one.
That is the only way you will be guaranteed that it will fit your hull properly.
I'm not a fan of the (high) west coast rail style, but that is just me.
Be prepared to give the factory the hull identification number (HIN) just in case they need it.
