MATERIALS

(1) Portable Go Light with remote.
(1) 3/8" pc of Starboard ( Wife's Double Sink Cover )
(4) Taco SS Bimini Top Hinge Brackets

I measured the inside of the Bow Rail Pulpit.
It tapered from 10" to 10.5" in 8 Inches.

The rest is self explanatory..

This way I can remove the light when not in use. Since I don't run a lot at night... and get it in front of the Bow Rail to stop the Glare Back.

If I want to remove the whole bracket I just remove the 4 nuts holding the bottom part of the hinges. the hinge swings down.. and the bracket will just pop off.

Looks good! I did the same design years ago but used heavy SS spring clamps to hold the base to the rail, so I can simply attach it and add a bungee for safe keeping.

Nice project and nice documentation! Photos are always helpful. 8)
Thank you for adding to the Parker knowledge-base.

Who's got the best price on a go light??
$110 on-line for the white 'wired' GoLight with remote control. Be AWARE ... the panning speed is FAST! Really too fast for efficient use, so I tend to spot directly off the bow and use it taht way. It's far too easy to over-shoot with the remote.

Ran out of Barnegat @3:Am Tuesday.. I must say I was very pleased with the light, 100x Better than someone holding a hand held. For me I have about 20 Red And Green Buoys to navigate to the inlet. Most red/Green are about 75 feet apart.
The speed of the light was fast.. but perfect. I could quickly get from red to green..

The only little draw back was a little glare back from the anchor.. Not reel bad.. next trip I will slip a Black "Sack over the anchor and bungy it to the rails.

How is it for spotting lobster pot buoys or debris in the water?

I do a fair amount of running at night and would like to be able to see in front of the boat at planning speed.

I was very comfortable with running at night.. it has the spot and also throws off a nice flood at the same time.

giving a the little glare back from anything in front of it. even a little from the curve of the rail pulpit..

Bryan, all the cousin's boats have allllll different types of remote spot lights mounted in all different places.

We pretty much ALWAYS turn them off while planing. It becomes more of a distraction than anything else. Sometimes you pick up a shiny/reflective pot, but for a floating/submerged pot/log anything, not so much.

Yeah, been there many times with the glare, but never had a light mounted on the bow like that.

I was thinking of mounting underwater LED's under the pulpit to flood the area infront of me with light and have no glare, not sure how that would work. Need to bite the bullet and spend some coin to try it.

I think you might be on to something there. 8)

There's an idea - has anyone seen this done before?

Not yet, but I like the idea.
The white LED's should be able to give off just enough light to reflect off of an ATON at night.
I'm thinking of a pair of truck clearance lights... if you can get them in white.
They should be sealed well enough to be used under the pulpit.

I was thinking of trying a pair of scarab chris's underwater light from Coastal LED Lights, figuring they would be waterproof enough to last from spray.
