Im gettin ready to buy a 2000 2320 within the next week or so. I know there is no better place then here to find out more about the boat. It has a 2000 225 yamaha ox66 salt water series for power. Any information on this boat would be greatly appreciated what to look out for what to stay away from etc. Thanks in advance!!!!

Guys, Mike is my cousin. We are hopefully going to go look at this boat December 4.

The boat is a 2000 2320 with an OX66 which looks good in the photos, I am familiar with Parkers, but not the 2320.

It has the full bulkhead steering station and no carpet on the interior and two captains chairs in the cabin.

My only concern right now with this boat is the location of the fuel tank, some seem to think it is mounted too far back.

Other than a general inspection of the cosmetics of this boat, what else should we look for? :?: :?: :?:

I cant think of anything special except check guages, engine tilt and trim motor, trim indicator sender, fuel hoses, batteries, check windows and door are working,
pretend it is 2530 and you are set
On my 94 2320, the gas tank is more than one foot (didnt measure it) from the transon

Not sure about the 2320, but on my 2520, you have the transom (seen in the photo below)...
then the bilge pumps and other items such as the inlet for the raw water wash down and transducer.
Forward of that, I have a pair of batteries (not visible as they are under the deck in this photo).

The main fuel tank runs from the p-house door back to the battery bulkhead.
Distance from the transom to the fuel tank is aprox 32 to 36".
I wouldn't call it too-far-back on this particular boat.

Of course, the 23 might use a different configuration.

Kevin, I believe the 2320 in 2000 had the tank further back than that, my 2530 is like yours.

FWIW we looked at a 2001 2320 with a notch transom and a kicker today, wish I took a pic because this thing looked like it was going to sink at the dock, I don't know if it was the kicker or if the boat was full of water but it was not floating right.

We are going to look at the boat Dec. 4, so we'll know more then.

Photos brother... photos. :D

Also, if you can pop a deck plate, take a look at the tag on the tank and note the tankage size.
I'd be interested if the 23 and 25 share the same tank. That could account why it is set further back on the 23.
FWIW - My main tank is labeled 127 gallons. My two wing tanks (that I do not use) are labeled 47 gallons each.
If the batteries are mounted in the upper transom area... that, and the tank, could account for the extra weight aft.

Fixable with a little creativity.

No experience with the pre 2005 model (when they moved the tank forward), but I believe the tank position is a valid concern. I have the newer model and wish the tank was further forward, but much depends on how you intend to used the boat, mainly how much weight you intend to carry and where in the boat its located. I am sure a non bracket model would a little better since the motor is on the transom an not 30 inches further aft. I find light to moderate loads no issues, but once things get towards max load, weight on the transom put the scuppers under water. Definitely sea trial WITH your intended load.

I think a bracketed model could be improved with a different bracket that has more flotation. The stock bracket on the late models only has about 250lbs of buoyancy fully submerged, not enough to even float the motor. I think 600-700 lbs is possible with the right bracket, not a trivial modification though.

I have a 2001 2320 parker rigged with twin yamaha 115's (800 lbs plus) and original bracket. absolutely no problems with scuppers below water line with full fuel loadand 3 200 lb guys fishing oin back deck. Heck I even have a 30 gallon bait tank in the port aft deck area running. Don't be to concerned.

On our '93 2320 with the extended cabin, the fuel tank comes all the way to the forward edge of the transom. Inside the transom are two batteries, hydraulic pump for the tabs, seacock for washdown, bait tank, and bilge pump. OX66 250 on a "stainless marine" bracket. There is a ~30gal bait tank on the port side swim step.

We went out fishing with three guys recently with the bait tank full and unless two (or more) of us were standing in the same corner, there was no water coming in past the ping pong ball style scuppers. Even then there was maybe only a 5" to 10" area that flooded with water.

This was with 3/4 tank of fuel in the 150 gal tank.

Some day I want to move the batteries from the transom up to the compartments inside the V-berth, but for now it really doesn't sit that low in the water as far as I'm concerned.

I've been on a lot of other boats that are MUCH more wet in the cockpit while fishing with two or three guys.

MARKW432156 that is a sweat set up. Did you get that set up from the factory or did you swap out the bracket?

Thanks for all the responses to this thread, i am heading to VA this Saturday to sea trail the boat and hopefully finalize the deal. Keep the info coming much appreciated!!!

Factory will not install twins on a 2320. I am not the first owner, checked with the original owner and the boat shipped with a 250 yammie. the big single was removed at the parker dealership in Steinhatchee and the F115's were installed.

I did a lot of research on the weight issue and took a long demo ride before I pull the trigger. Again i have zero water instrusion issues through the scuppers and the boat doesn't ride stern heavy etc. I am totally happy. mark

Saturday is the BIG day, looking forward to getting this deal finalized, and joining the Parker family!!!
