I was thinking of swapping out my cabin helm on my 2006 2320 for the newer model . Has anyone out there tried this and is it possible ? Can I get the helm from Parker. :?:

Why do you want to get it from Parker?
They use Seastar...I've upgraded all of mine to U-flex..... Got tired of Seastar stuff leaking.

I'm assuming that you are talking about the actual helm itself as in the fiberglass dash so to speak and that you are NOT referring to the hydraulic steering system?

Probably, you should start with your local/nearest Parker dealer with this request. The factory is not likely to sell you one direct. Also, unless they have an old one around I don't think it's going to be in the old off white/cream it will be the brighter white they use now?

I completely understand your desire to swap out the helms from the older style to the newer layout.
I have considered this as well as I have been looking at 2320's and 2120's with the older style. My thought is to bring the hull to a fiberglass fabricator, derig the current helm and have one modified/ fabricated to mimic the newer style (built in binnacle shelf and cup holder that comes down the starboard side. It should not be cost prohibitive. I am guessing in the $1500 range or so. Then, rerig the new helm, and youre good to go.

Thanks for the reply, the more I look at it , it would me QUITE the job the replace the whole helm ( all the wiring ). I have composite/fiberglass experience and was thinking of just doing it myself ,adding on to the excising . how do I attach photos , I tried but it said the file is too big.
