Here is the project. I am re-gelcoating the deck & gunnels in my 89 23' CC. I have the deck & non-skid under control. The question is I will be rolling the gelcoat on the gunnels, Do I need to put 2 coats or will one work? I just want cover the faded & pourus old gelcoat so it will be easier to clean. Yes I will be using the same Parker color. I am guessing I will need 2-3 gallons, any input on that would help also. Thanks

I don't know a thing...But I have a chip or two in my Gel Coat and did a youtube search.
I quickly became a fan of this guy:

His website is boatworkstoday dot com
The videos are worth checking out! If only they were Parkers he was repairing.

Hope this helps.
