My captains chair will slide all the way back when underway even when i push the latch up. Any ideas?

I had the same problem with my brand new 2100 Deep Vee...Parker replaced the mechanisms under new boat warranty.

My friend is having the same problem with his 2520 captain chairs. Dealer already replaced them once in 2005.

I did look under the chair and it looks like it is sticking. I cant get the seat to slide back unless im sitting on it no matter how hard i push. passenger seat doesnt do it.

If you want it to move and it won't; apply WD-40
If you don't want it to move and it does; apply duct tape

The mechanism is fairly simple.....It's also easy to take the seat of the post to work on it.

Brad V,

I had the same problem with the Helm and Navigator station seats in Empty Pockets.

Parker replaced them for free. The replacement Spider/Sliders were a completely different configuration than what was on the chairs initially.

I have not had an issue with them since.

Empty Pockets was built late in 2004 and sold as a 2005, early in 2005.

If your boat is a similar age, perhaps you have the same type of Spider/Sliders that I had to replace.

Give the folks at Parker a call and see what they can do. I am going to guess the reason they changed the configuration of the Spider/Sliders to the one I have installed now on Empty Pockets, is that there was a problem with the old design.

Good luck . . . I understand your frustration . . . it drove me batty until I replaced them.
